I also design, make  and embellish all types of Professional Tutus and love experimenting  in my spare time with dyeing  fabrics and design challenges for unusual requests.

From the Individual Dancer to a Dance Company needing a couple of  Tutus or Costumes for a Performance, I can usually accommodate as many requests as I am able to.

I endeavour to stock items in my shop which are in demand but if there is a product you require which I do not stock please contact me as I may be able to be of assistance.

A small bit about me

From a young age I loved the stage but found I preferred being behind the scenes rather than in the spotlight.

Designing and making Costumes is a never-ending learning curve as each and every one is different and the variety and constant challenge for each new project is what makes it so exciting.

From the initial concept to the end result when the show opens, and you see all your hours of hard work come to life on the wonderful dancers- that is what I love about my job.

Over the past 25 years or so I  have studied a large range of sewing techniques including–

  • Pattern making
  • Textile Design
  • Embellishment
  • Sculptural Fabric design

  • Corsetry
  • Fabric dyeing
  • Tutu making

I have worked for small and larger Ballet Companies and Dance Colleges with production numbers ranging from 10 – 200 costumes.

As time went by I found I preferred working on smaller productions and enjoyed concentrating on unique one-off designs for individuals.

I found my enthusiasm for Tutu making, and the fascinating engineering that goes into each one  grew as I became more involved.

I  sometimes have to travel for costume fittings and meetings  and  I also try to get to as many Trade shows as possible to see the latest trims and fabrics  the Textile world has to offer, so if anything is urgently needed I can endeavour to accommodate everyone as far as possible.
