1^st July 2025

To all my customers

In the next few months I will be winding down my business and closing Valorose Tutus and Textiles.

Building up this business from scratch over these past 14 years has been challenging work but so fulfilling. It really has been everything to me but unfortunately it must now end due to ill health.

I will be doing the last orders of imported Nets in the next month or so and any requests please email me at valorosetutus@gmail.com and I will try my best to accommodate you.

Around the time of the business closing there will be Sales of products in stock and anything remaining will then be donated to charities and schools.

My heartfelt thanks to all my regular customers who have supported my business throughout. I really do appreciate it more than words can say.

You are all truly remarkable creative men and women and it has been a privilege to work with you all.

To those who joined along the way I hope you all go from strength to strength in your own endeavours.

There will also be a new colour coming in July called ‘Sea Green’ in the Finer 40 denier Italian net.

Any feedback regarding adding these colours to the existing range is welcomed.

Italian Coarser ‘F’ 40 Denier has two new colours–Dark Nude (slightly more of a Tan colour than the Oz Dark Nude coloured net) and Apple Green. (A slightly more Yellow Apple Green.)

The Oz net new colour ‘Blush Nude Pink’ is a softer nude colour with a touch of Ballet Pink colour in it)  Brought in by request – Lovely colour.

Net and Lycra samples

We are slowly phasing out the 170 gsm Italian Lycra and replacing it with the Italian 190 gsm Matt Lycra.

There are a few different colours in the new range which will be introduced as the others go out of stock.

A lovely Blue Lycra called Cornflower which matches the Cornflower Italian Coarser 40 Denier Net.

Laguna Green Lycra blends well with the Oz net called Laguna.

The Peach Blends well with the Italian Coarser net ‘Peach’

Recycled Nylon.

More colours will be added over time.

Please order samples to be sure it is what you need and to confirm colour choices.

A thin lining can be used.

Christmas LAST orders will be the 16th December

Any large orders of net etc might have to be ordered in so it is best to plan these in November as the Factories also close for Christmas and New Year for two weeks.

Royal mail strikes and the busy Christmas season will cause delays so please get your orders in as early as possible.

January is always a busy month and orders will be sent on a first come first served basis.

Orders and Tutus will go out as soon as possible — leave a note if your order is very urgent.

The final designs must always be visually acceptable in their placement.

These are FULL size patterns for guides only as each Tutu is different in size and the patterns will need to be adapted to fit your particular size.

Depending on feedback these might be changed to Half size patterns as they are too large for mailing rolled.

They will come folded in A4 sizes but can be flattened and then rolled for storage.

Available in Adult and Child size— as a basic Adult approximate  15″ Tutu skirt (32 1/2″ High Hip plus 2″ ease = 34 1/2″)

and a basic Child 11.5″ Tutu skirt (28″ High Hip plus 2″ ease=30″).  See more information in the Shop under Tutu Patterns.

There will be 3 pattern designs initially- plus the Basic Guidelines pattern— Petals, Stars and Scallops, Starfish

The Designs will be available as a set or individually.

I will be starting off with the Basic Guidelines pattern on its own.

Basic Notes are emailed with each Pattern if ordered.

A good knowledge of Tutu making is advised as the notes do not cover basic sewing or how to make a Tutu.

Basically if I sell to a consumer in the EU I do not apply VAT to your invoice– that gets applied at your country’s VAT charges along with Duties and customs at the border and is payable by you.

As this saga continues I just wanted to let everyone know what could possibly affect you as the customer on my website purchasing certain goods.

As it stands anything I import from Europe will have to have import duties, Tax and customs applied from 1st January 2021. This affects Net from Italy.

The rules and regulations are currently being worked on with paperwork having to increase tenfold.

If I take it as the same as imports from the USA or worldwide then certain goods are classified as controlled and certain as standard imports.

Controlled goods need specialist transport and freight costs are just about doubled. Import duties/ customs are then applied.

Until we all know what is happening we cannot even give an estimate of the extra fees which will be needed to be added to the costs of the goods already set out.

This is as you all know a severe threat to small businesses. Even goods I purchase from the UK will be affected as the increased costs are applied to the many other companies who import goods from the EU.

We can only hope it gets sorted soon so we all know where we stand.

Restrictions are already in place from several companies I deal with who until they have some sort of idea of what is involved will not be exporting to the UK.

Nets and fabrics are mainly affected and haberdashery etc to a lesser extent.
