New Black Stencil with Large Scallop and Zig – Zag edges for easier shaping of the Net.

The material used is more flexible than the last batch of Acrylic templates made.

As the template is made out of a plastic material it will become damaged if you cut into it.

Please wipe them before using as the manufacturing residue might be on the edges of the template.

I wipe the templates before mailing them but wipe or wash with a soapy cloth before using to be sure.

It is better to trace and then cut around the tracing lines on the net rather than cutting against the template.

The Scallop and Zig Zag are larger than the medium template.

Scallop dimensions are 5 cm wide x 2 cm in height approximately

Zig Zag dimensions are 5 cm at the widest point x 4 cm deep approximately

Trace around the edge and cut.

Depending on the colour of the net you can use a pen or pencil.

I find it easier to use a curved (blade) pair of scissors to cut my scallops.

Size – 20 cm long x 10.5 cm wide x 2mm depth ( Approximately)

The Zig Zag side should be used with care as it has pointy tips.

These are the light weight  flexible Sheets suitable for Applique work etc.

Be cautious in using some very thin sheets as they don’t work well with the higher temperatures needed with some Applique work.

Double up the thinner sheets depending on your needs—Always experiment first on scraps.

Teflon (PTFE) sheets are heat resistant up to about 260 – 290 degrees Centigrade depending on the thickness.

They have very low friction properties which make them extremely slippery.

Teflon resists weathering and chemicals and has excellent electrical and thermal insulation properties.

Used for Applique work where you have glue residue or inks or Fusible interfacings.

The Teflon sheet is placed under your work to protect your ironing board and over the Applique to prevent the iron sticking.

They are non-stick and re usable over and over depending on their use.

Easily wiped clean with Baby wipes or similar.

They also protect your work from direct heat and the fabric from scorching.

Not to be used with steam, use the iron with the steam function off.

The Teflon can get warm with long applications of heat so be cautious.

When ironing delicate silk fabrics, the sheet will allow more pressure to be used without damage.

The Teflon sheets can be used on your machine bed when sewing or embroidering as the fabric glides over it without snagging.

This might require punching a hole for the needle and making sure the sheet doesn’t move when sewing.

Painters tape does not leave residue and works well but test anything new first.

Small sheet sizes approximately 245 mm x 200 mm x 0.06 mm

Always store flat or rolled–folding will cause damage to the Teflon sheet.

Teflon (PTFE) can become dangerous if heated over temperatures of 300 degrees Centigrade.

PVC Insulation electrical tape which can be used for joining Tutu hooping.

Overlap your hooping by 4-6″ and secure by wrapping the Tape firmly around it.

The tape needs to have pressure applied to secure it–firmly wrap the hooping from just before two pieces overlap to after the two pieces overlap.

The hooping will not be secure if the tape is not pulled gently but firmly to join and wrapped securely.

Mini spring clamps in Grey

These Mini spring clamps are very useful for holding fabric in place.

Used for clamping the net onto the steel ruler for steaming.

Always dry after use to prevent damage.

As they are quite heavy if sold in bulk and are overweight for Royal mail then I have to send with a Courier.

A Paypal invoice will be sent for the extra postage. Please enquire to approximate the shipping cost if ordering in bulk.

Two strengths–

The Stronger Grey clamps and a Medium strength Blue clamp.

The Grey clamps—

These are made of nickel-plated strong steel with vinyl tips for protection.

Some fabrics might be too fine for the use of these clamps, check first or order a sample of 1 each to test for your own use.

There is a tempered steel spring which allows a good holding strength.

The manufacturer claims about a  14 lb clamping strength.

They measure 10 mm wide at the tip and are 50 mm in length.

The clamps can be opened fully to approximately 12 mm (clamping depth) or comfortably to 9 mm.

A one metre ruler fits 36 clamps spaced closely together.

Same size.

The Blue Clamps are being sold until stock is finished. These are approximately half the cost of the Grey ones.

The clamping depth is wider at approximately 20 mm. Much less grip as the material used is weaker.

Definitely not for applications where strong grip is required but adequate for holding fabrics etc.

Ordering and Testing one is advised before purchasing in bulk.

Helps turn bias strips inside out to become tubes of narrow fabric

Also aids in the threading of Elastic through narrow areas

Thread your Loop turner through the fabric you want to turn inside out then hook a piece of fabric at the end and slowly pull through.

Make sure it doesn’t detach–(I wind a bit of tape around the hook to secure it)

A good marking aids as the Pencils are easy to use and they sharpen with a standard pencil sharpener.

Although marks made with light taylors chalk onto fabric do come off with brushing, the Pencils’ chalk takes longer to come off.

ALWAYS do a test on the fabric you are using it on as it might not suit all applications.
