The proper Millinery Petersham tape with the ridges on the edges. Lightweight.

This allows you to curve it when Ironing to fit the waistline on the basque of the Tutu skirt.

Some people double it up for strength but it can be used singly—Not as strong as the Polyester Petersham tape.

Made from a Rayon and Viscose mix and is 25 mm wide or 1″.

Can alter shape when heat applied.

Stock colours are Silk White, Ivory, Nude, Pale Blue, Lilac/Lavender

This Petersham tape is soft on the skin and mostly used on younger students.

There are other uses for this Petersham tape as it is manufactured for Millinery use.

White Duchesse

A good Duchesse Satin Bias tape. Denser than the standard Satin Bias Binding.

100% Polyester so it is softer than the Acetate Bias Binding.

Curves well when needed on sewing .

Black, Red, White

Used for Piping and Binding on Tutus, and Seam coverage.

This Binding is not suitable for Boning casing,

100% Polyester.

Width 20 mm folded and open flat 40 mm.

Folds meet in the centre of the Bias.

100% Cotton Good quality Bias Binding.

Softer feel than economy version which has a stiff feel

Prym Bias tape and Wrights Cotton bias tape are the best quality we have found so far

Width – 40mm open and 20 mm finished width with both ends folded in to centre

A densely woven Tubular tape to encase boning

Bone slides into casing and then ends are sewn closed

This Casing is used for strong boning like Spiral Steel or Metal boning specifically as these are strong and more inclined to ‘poke through’

Two widths and two colours available but they can be dyed

White and Black

Widths – 15 mm (9 mm inner) —use 6-7 mm boning- (Does not fit 10 mm bones due to the seam welding on the casing.)

Sturdiest tape is Petersham with sewing lines, then the Curved Petersham tape ( Medium)  then the Millinery Petersham

which is Rayon and strong but has a softer feel so some people prefer it for younger students.
