Reels of 700 metres in the Mara 70 thread. A stronger thread for where seams are placed under stress.

Mara 70 wine

Dusky Pink, Pale Pink, Mid Blue, Peacock Dark

Tutu Bodices and Corsets have strain placed upon the seams as they are form fitting garments.

Extra strength is required and the thread has to be able to withstand it.

The Mara 70 Gutermann thread is 100% Polyester and has a good breaking strain.

Use a larger needle for ease of sewing.

9mm x 22cm (9″) Spiral Boning

Spiral steel cut into lengths and capped with metal end caps.

Standard thickness is 0.75 mm. Sturdier thickness is 0.90 mm.

Common lengths stocked are in 5 mm  and 7 mm widths x 0.75 mm

Some are in the stronger 0.90 mm depth.

Longer bones are better in the heavier weight if more support is needed.

5 mm wide Spiral Steel Boning

This Spiral Steel wire boning flexes sideways and forwards and backwards

Ideal for Tutu bodices where movement is not restricted and support is needed

Made of hardened and galvanised spring steel wire

Wipe with a dry cloth  and meths before use to remove any manufacturing residue

This wire can be cut using Tin snips. Cut one wire at a time or all together with stronger cutters

Finish ends with a dot of adhesive and Metal endcaps. Crimp firmly in place and allow to dry before inserting into a casing

If ordering more than 1 roll of 10m the order will be sent either as 10m rolls or a continuous length.

Please leave a note if you do want 10m rolls.

The wire is heavy so could be over 2kg maximum weight for a Small parcel.

If Courier shipping is charged the balance after P and P will be refunded depending on order.

Polyester White Coutil has a stiff paper feel but is a lightweight fabric. Please order a sample to confirm it is what you need. Needs washing to soften. Very stiff fabric not flexible.

The Firm finish is a heavy fabric and might need to go with a courier.

I have 2 versions of this Coutil— A 350-400 gsm Firm Stiffer finish,  and a 255-300 gsm Medium weight

A)—-Firm Stiff Finish —-White, Black, Flesh/Beige.

1. Densely woven Fine Herringbone weave with a stiffer finish. Width of 1.45- 1.50 cm (58″- 60″)

Approximately 350-400 gsm weight.–Used in Corsets and for a firm handle Bodice.

B)—-New Medium softer lighter weight Cotton Coutil. Approximately 255 – 300 gsm.—–Natural creamy White–Not a bleached white

150 cm width (60″) Available in Natural creamy White and Black

Ideal for Basque and Bodice lining of Tutus.
