Gutermann 120 100% Polyester thread

High abrasion resistance and used for standard sewing applications on light weight and medium weight fabrics.

Where the seams require more strength a lower number product might be more suitable-ie 70, 75 thread.

Tutu Bodices and Corsets have strain placed upon the seams as they are form fitting garments.

Extra strength is required and the thread has to be able to withstand it.

The Mara 70 Gutermann thread is 100% Polyester and has a good breaking strain.

Use a larger needle for ease of sewing.

Overlock Serging thread 80 (35 TEX)–Medium weight fabrics 270gsm

Textured polyester threads which are used for chainstitch and coverstitch on knitted fabric

Also used as a overlock stitch on woven fabrics

Needle size  80 – 100

These threads have been textured and heat-set to ensure good bulk retention and seam coverage.

They are suitable for stretch fabrics as they have a very good seam elasticity.

Sold in cones of 5000 metres

The ‘D’ size allows for the thread to pass through seed beads a few times. Works well on size 10 – 11 seed beads.

Ipcabond Nylon thread Cone 4500m

IPCABOND bonded nylon thread in Silk white colour Cone–4500m—60’s Core. Extremely tough thread.

American thread 36 (TEX 80)—Heavy Fabric 400gsm

EXTRA strong thread used in Upholstery and hand sewing for where extra strength is needed.

I use for tacking and sewing Bodice to Basque on my Tutus

These reels come from large Cones of 5000 Metres which I manually wind onto small wooden reels for ease of use and to offer at a more realistic price.
